In owners' own words

Verbatim excerpts from complaints filed with NHTSA about Michelin Primacy A/S. Reports are published by NHTSA as filed and are lightly cleaned here only to remove intake codes.

Tires worn to wear bar 2/32 to 4/32 in in 28,000 miles. At severe risk for hydroplaning and possible accident related to all tires with premature wear. This is second full set of Michelin tires that have worn prematurely. The tires have been inspected by Costco tires which is the purchasing dealer. I have called the manufacture also Aug 18, 2022. They have started a warranty but was told it would be toward purchase of new set of Michelin. I do not wish to purchase their tires in the near future. I have been a customer with Michelin for many years and have always been very satisfied but recently the tires are very poor quality.

NHTSA complaint 1834200

The passenger rear tire (235/60R19 - Michelin Primacy A/S) randomly blew out while driving at high speeds on the highway. No trauma via a pothole or other object was noted. Tire was inflated to the manufacture recommended PSI (33 PSI). No signs came up until the tire blew out. The tire just randomly decided to give out while driving.

NHTSA complaint 2210920

Driving on I-69 in the right lane 18 miles south of Bloomington In. with our 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport Touring in adapative cruise at 77 on a straight dry road the driver front tire blew out with 14 holes on the outside sidewall. There was a car passing me on the left and when it blew out it pulled me towards it as he moved left to avoid hitting, I turnrd off adaptive cruise immediately and slowly applied brakes to pull off the road on the right. No warning lights ever came on in the vehicle. Michelin Primacy A/S 235/55 R19 The vehicle was towed to Andy Moore Honda in Bloonington In. by road side Honda and the tire was replaced and a front end alignment was done. The vehicle had 2471 miles on the odometer at the time of the incident.

Michelin primacy A/S: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the Primacy A/S is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Primacy A/S is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Michelin Primacy A/S has been part of Michelin's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
