ON 2 OCCASIONS (10/96/ AND 8/00), I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER DURING THE ANNUAL INSPECTION, THAT THERE WAS A BUBBLE ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE, NOT VISIBLE TO THE EYE. IN OCTOBER 1996, I HAD TO REPLACE THE RIM AS WELL AS THE TIRE. IN AUGUST, THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A BUBBLE ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE HOWEVER I DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE RIM BUT ONLY THE TIRE. UPON CALLING GOODYEAR, THEY WANTED ME TO SEND THE TIRES TO THEM AS THEY WERE OUT OF WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM THOUGH IS THAT IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM (A BUBBLE) WITH THE SAME TIRE EACH WITH VERY LITTLE MILEAGE ON THEM.
JUST HAD TIRES REPLACED FOR THE 3RD TIME AND OUR VEHICLE ONLY HAS 53,000 ORIGINAL MILES. WE HAVE OUR TIRES ROTATED EVERY 5,000 MILES. OUR FIRST SET OF TIRES WERE GOODYEARS 60,000 MILE WARRANTY AND OUR SECOND SET WERE FIRESTONE 80,000 MILE WARRANTY. NO ONE SEEMS TO NO WHY THEY ARE WEARING SO RAPIDLY. OUR VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE AND WE PURCHASED IT NEW IN 1995. WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY OUR GAS PEDAL COLLAPSED AND WE COULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE THROTTLE LINKAGE HAD COME APART.
WHILE DRIVING A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT. CONSUMER PULLED OVER, AND NOTICED THAT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO CHANGE THE TIRE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MICHELIN, MXV4, 195/65R15.
MICHELIN TIRES CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND HAS BEEN REPLACED MANY TIMES**NAR**CC THE CONSUMER STATED MOST OF THE TIRES SUFFERED TREAD SEPARATION. THE CONSUMER STATED MICHELIN HAS DISCONTINUED THE TIRES, WHICH LED HER TO BELIEVE THEY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE FLAT TIRE THAT WAS REPAIRED WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY. THE PATCH WAS APPLIED WITHOUT BUFFING THE TIRE TO ENSURE THE REAPER WOULD ADHERE. UPDATED 06/06/07.
