What owners described

Sidewall failure appears in 38% of these reports; about 2.5× as often as across all tire complaints. Percentages are shares of the 8 reports filed against Travelstar tires across every line and vehicle that include a written account; a single report can describe more than one problem, so they do not total 100%.

In owners' own words

PURCHASED 4 TRAVELSTAR UN99 205/55R16 91V STEEL BELTED RADIAL TIRES PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED. IN LESS THAN 20 MILES OF DRIVING, NOTICED BULGE ON FRONT DRIVER OUTER SIDEWALL, DRIECTLY ABOVE THE VALVE STEM. NO DAMAGE TO RIM, NOTHING WAS RUN OVER OR HIT. SELLER OF TIRES WAS AUTOPLICITY REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING, CITING THAT A BULGE ON THE SIDEWALL USUALLY OCCURS DUE TO A POSSIBLE ROAD HAZARD, IMPROPER INFLATION, EXCESSIVE LOAD IMPACT, OR AN INSTALLERS ERROR AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE SELLER DID NOT ASK FOR ANY PHOTOS PRIOR TO MAKING THIS DECISION. WE HAVECONTACTED AMAZON.COM, WHOM WAS THE DISTRIBUTOR FOR AUTOBLICITY. SHOULD THIS TIRE FAIL, THERE WOULD BE A LOSS OF CONTROL DUE TO ITS LOCATION OF THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. THIS WOULD PUT BOTH THE DRIVER AND OTHER PERSONS IN THE AREA AT RISK. THIS BATCH OF TIRES NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.

Travelstar ecopath ap: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the Ecopath Ap is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Ecopath Ap is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Travelstar Ecopath Ap has been part of Travelstar's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
