THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 DODGE RAM 1500 EQUIPPED WITH NITTO MUDGRAPPLER TIRES (NA), SIZE 33X12.50R17 LT. THE DOT NUMBER WAS 73BDED54311. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN UNRELATED REPAIR AND THEY NOTICED THAT THE TREAD ON ALL FOUR TIRES WAS DRY ROTTED. THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,739.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH NITROUS SEC FOOSE 8 1/2 BY 19 AND REAR 10 1/2 BY 19(NA) TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES FAILED AND THE SIDEWALLS SPLIT BEFORE THE CONTACT COULD PLACE 100 MILES ON THE TIRES. THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. Tire size 265/65/R17 In 8000 miles on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma, purchased new in August 2022, I have had two Nitto Ridge Grappler sidewall failures. Each has happened at highway speeds (55-60 mph) with adequate pressure (35 PSI). No objects or road hazards were encountered. Each tire displayed significant sidewall damage resulting in rapid loss of pressure (blowout). The passenger side front and driver side rear have both experienced the failure. This is a safety concern as a rapid decrease in pressure creates unstable driving conditions. So far, I have received no response from Nitto or Toyota regarding the failures. Instead, I am now required to purchase two new tires. I am concerned the other two will eventually fail on the sidewalls as well.
P245/55R19 103T Nitto Crosstek2 BW. Vehicle pulls to different directions when the tires are cross swapped. I have taken the vehicle to 4 to 5 wheel alignments within 3 months and 3 different shops after the purchase of the tire. Recently I took the vehicle Big O Tires and they _verified the tires have "Radial Pull" / Tire Conicity due to Manufacturing Defect of the a belt separation within the tire's structure. _The shop also verified that the alignment is performed correctly. I believe those tire are unsafe and they could fail suddenly causing crash.
