PURCHASED 4 NEW NEXEN N5000 (225/45R17) TIRES AND HAD THEM INSTALLED ON 10/21/13. APPROX. 2K MILES ON THE TIRES, AND WE NOTICED A BUBBLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WHERE THE TREAD AND SIDEWALL MEET. NO SIGNS OF SCRATCHES ON THE SIDEWALL, AND WE ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY IMPACT WITH POTHOLES OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 KIA FORTE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 74 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S TIRE SPONTANEOUSLY BLEW. THE CONTACT ALERTED BOTH THE MANUFACTURE AND DEALER ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE AND VEHICLE WAS 34,900.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. IN ADDITION, THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE EXHIBITED A MEDIUM SIZE BUBBLE ON THE TIRE SIDEWALL. THE TWO DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
