Michelin Primacy Xc: what the numbers tell you
Manufacturer treadwear data for the Primacy Xc is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.
Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Primacy Xc is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.
Most customers report severe premature tread wear, with tires worn to wear bars or below 5/32" as early as 20,000–30,000 miles, including edge cracking and tread peeling. Many express frustration over dangerously inadequate traction in snow and wet conditions, describing slipping in light snow and zero grip on icy pavement. However, some praise the quiet, comfortable ride and strong dry-weather handling. Overall, negative experiences with durability and winter performance significantly outweigh positive feedback on ride quality. I only drive these in summer and changed to winters in winter. After 5 years and 130,000 km, need to change. Great tires. Having a sport model, the tires hugged the road going on the off and on- ramps at a decent speed. Traction in wet conditions was phenomenal.
