THE CONTACT OWNS A 1996 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE EQUIPPED WITH DAYTON QUADRA ET2 TIRES, SIZE: P225/70R15. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT, CAUSING THE INSIDE BELT AND THREAD TO SEPARATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DOT NUMBER AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 205,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, DRIVER HEARD A NOISE AND FELT TREMENDOUS VIBRATION. AFTER STOPPING VAN, OWNER NOTICED REAR TIRES ON PASSENGER'S SIDE WERE DOWN. TIRE WAS ON A 1992, GMC, STARCRAFT VAN. MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 2,000. TIRE MANUFACTURER WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE TIRE.
PE-00-020 TIRES ARE DAYTON DURALON VERTEX, TIRE SIZE P23575R15, DOT NUMBER BEGINS WITH VDHL. TIRES ONLY HAD 6087 MILES ON THEM, TIRES WERE PURCHASED AS REPLACEMENT TIRES FOR A FORD 150, 1993. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FRONT END VIBRATED, CAUSING POOR VEHICLE CONTROL. TIRES WAS INSPECTED AND WAS SHOWEN EVIDENCE OF INNER BELTS SEPARATING.
ALL FOUR OF THESE TIRES ARE SEPARATING AT TREAD AND SIDEWALL. A FIRESTONE DEALER INSPECTED THEM (YUDDY'S IN PORTSMOUTH, NH) AND TOLD ME THEY WERE ALL SPLITTING. HOWEVER, THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP ME AND GET IN THE MIDDLE. MAYBE BECAUSE I ALREADY BOUGHT FOUR TIRES ELSEWHERE. I STILL HAVE THE TIRES, AND NEED TO TURN THEM IN SOMEWHERE AND GET RE-IMBURSEMENT. THESE TIRES NEED TO BE ADDED TO YOUR LIST AS WELL. *AK (DOT NUMBER: VDHL HLA TIRESIZE: P235/75R15)
