WHILE DRIVING NOTICED A TIRE GOING FLAT. PULLED OVER & STOPPED VEHICLE TO CHECK IT. SAW NOTHING & PUMPED TIRE UP. FELT AIR COMING OUT WHEN TIRE WAS PUMPED. SPOKE TO MANUFACTURER & WAS INFORMEDTHAT THERE WAS HAIRLINE CRACK IN TIRE (LIFETIME GUARANTEE). MANUFACTURER HAD TIRE REPLACED, BUT SAID NOTHING ABOUT WHAT CAUSED THE CRACK OR IF OTHER THREE TIRES WILL CRACK.
WAS DRIVING 70MPH WHEN FELT SOMETHING HITTING THE UNDERBODY OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE STARTED TO SWERVE. VEHICLE WAS CONTROLLABLE. PULLED VEHICLE TO SIDE OF THE ROAD & STOPPED. THE FIRST SET FAILED AT 35K MILES, AND I PURCHASED AS SECOND SET. THESE TIRES FAILED ATFTER 35K MILES, AND I HAD TO REPLACE THESE, AS WELL. THE FIRESTON DEALER SUGGESTED THAT I REPLACE THE SECOND SET TIEH FIRESTONE ATX, WHICH I DID. THIS WILL MAKE A TOTAL OF THREE SETS OF THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES I HAVE OWNED. IN MARCH, 2000, THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BEGAN TO BULDGE AND SHOW SIGNS OF TREAD SEPARATION, UPON HAVING IT INSPECTED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIRE WAS IN FACT SEPARATING. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AT THAT TIME. AND NOW THE RIGHT REAR TIRE IS SHOWING SIGNS OF SEPARATION AND IN CONTACTING THE FIRESTONE COMPANY ON THIS, I WAS TOLD THE TIRES ARE NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND IF I THINK THEY ARE UNSAFE THEN MAYBE I SHOULD THINK OF REPLACING THEM. UPON TELLING THEM THAT THIS IS THE SECOND TIRE THAT HAS SEPARATED I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THESE TIRES. MY TRUCK IS PARKED BECAUSE I AM AFRAID FOR MY SAFTEY AS WELL AS OTHERS. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO GET THESE REPLACED.
