NOTICED LARGE CRACKS IN SIDEWALL OF HANKOOK OPTIMO H725A DOT 1GPR DY H 0711 205/55 R16 91H - 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 45,000 MILES. HAD TIRE REPLACED AT OWN EXPENSE. 9-12-2013 53,000 NOTICED 2 OTHER TIRES NOW WITH THE SAME LARGE CRACKS IN SIDEWALL.
PURCHASED 4 NEW NEXEN N5000 (225/45R17) TIRES AND HAD THEM INSTALLED ON 10/21/13. APPROX. 2K MILES ON THE TIRES, AND WE NOTICED A BUBBLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WHERE THE TREAD AND SIDEWALL MEET. NO SIGNS OF SCRATCHES ON THE SIDEWALL, AND WE ARE NOT AWARE OF ANY IMPACT WITH POTHOLES OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT.
EXACT MODEL OF TIRE IS NOT FOUND IN THE DROP DOWN MENU. DUNLOP SP SPORT 01 A/S. SIZE 225/40R18 92H. A BUBBLE IN THE SIDEWALL DEVELOPED AFTER 9,000 MILES WITH NO ACCIDENT. THIS WEAKNESS IN THE TIRE CAN VERY EASILY LEAD TO BLOWOUTS. IF THE BUBBLE OCCUR ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE, IT CAN GO UNNOTICED. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS SPECIFIC TIRE AND MANY VEHICLES USE THIS TIRE AS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT.
