How we ranked these tires for the toyota celica
We started with the latest model-year's OEM tire size; 195/60R15; and filtered our catalog of 22,000+ tires to those offered in that exact size. From there, four parallel rankings:
- Best all-season ranks on a weighted score: tire type matches passenger car segment, season is "all-season", premium brand bonus (Michelin / Continental / Bridgestone / Pirelli / Goodyear / Nokian).
- Best budget ranks on cost-per-warranty-mile; the lower the better. Premium brands get no bonus here.
- Best quiet ranks on the EU tire-label dB rating; lower is quieter.
- Best winter filters to tires marked 3PMSF severe-snow rated or all-weather class, with a small premium-brand bonus because winter-compound R&D is capital-intensive.
For sedans and compacts, the all-season touring tire below is the best default; long warranty, low cabin noise, reasonable cost per mile. Switch to the quiet pick if highway droning is a deal-breaker; switch to the winter pick if you see significant snow each year. Use the side-by-side comparison above to weigh the trade-offs against your specific driving; highway-heavy, winter-state, performance-oriented, or budget-constrained.

ON 11/02/02 WE PURCHASED 4 KELLY SPRINGFIELD 185/70R14 METRIC TIRES WITH A MFGS 50,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR OUR TOYOTA CELICA. ON 11/25/2002, THE DEALER REPLACED THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WHICH DEVELOPED A BULDGE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE. ON 08/30/03 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CELICA ON THE FREEWAY AND THE LEFT FRONT TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT. INSPECTION OF THE TIRE REVEALS THAT THAT THE BLOWOUT PRODUCED A VERTICAL GASH FROM THE RIM TO THE TIRE TREAD. THE TIRE WILL BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT ON 09/04/03. THE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 12,000 MILE OF WEAR ON THEM.
THE PROBLEM AROSE ONE DAY WHEN I WAS AT MY AUNTS HOUSE. MY UNCLE WENT OUT SIDE TO LOOK A MY BRAND NEW CAR, 2005 CELICA AND NOTICED THAT I HAD A BUBBLE IN THE SIDE OF MY TIRE. I TOOK IT UP THE NEXT DAY TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I HAD ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR THREE MONTHS. THE FIRST THING THAT CAME OUT OF THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WAS THAT I HAD TO HAVE HIT SOMETHING. I DO NOT RECALL HITTING ANYTHING, I AM SO CAUTIOUS WITH THIS NEW CAR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE ONLY WAY THIS COULD BE COVERED WAS WITH ROAD HAZARD, WHICH I DID NOT HAVE. I WOULD NOT MIND HAVING TO PAY FOR THE TIRE BUT THEY WEREN'T EVEN WILLING TO TAKE MY TIRE OFF TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TIRE. I WAS TOLD BY NUMEROUS PEOPLE THAT IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS RIDING AROUND IN MY CAR WITH THE CONDITION MY TIRE WAS IN. THE TIRE SIZE (215/45 ZR17).
