STUDDED SNOW TIRES WERE PURCHASED AND PUT ON BY GULF SERVICE STATION IN PITTSFIELD, ME ON 12/03/02. ON 01/01/03 THE DRIVER FRONT SNOW TIRE "BLEW OFF" RIM OF WHEEL. TIRE WAS NOT RECOVERED AT ACCIDENT SITE. TIRE COULD NOT BE FOUND BY NY STATE TROOPER NOR MY HUSBAND! VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED.
WARRANTY WORK WAS DONE WHICH INCLUDED ROTATING TIRES. WHEN TIRES WERE ROTATED, THREE TIRES WERE NOTED WITH INNER EDGE CUPPING AND DAMAGE. THE SRV IS AN AZTEC AND THE TIRES ARE WILDERNESS HTS. NILES IS A AUTHORIZED DEALER AND STATED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES, WILL NOT REPLACE.TS
AFTER THE 1ST YEAR ROUTINE NYS INSPECTION, I WAS REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES. DEALER AND SUBSEQUENT CALL TO PONTIAC BOTH INDICATED THAT THE MATERIAL USED ON BRAKE PADS WEAR MORE QUICKLY SINCE THEY ARE NO LONGER MADE OF THE ASBESTOS MATERIAL. GRANTED AT 22000 MILES IT WAS SOONER THAN EXPECTED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT DUE TO FAILURE TO ROTATE MY TIRES AT THE 6000 MILE MARK, I HAD TO REPLACE 2 TIRES DUE TO WEAR. DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT PASS THE NYS INSPECTION WITHOUT COMPLETING THE WORK... AM I TO EXPECT A BRAKE REPLACEMENT YEARLY?
TIRES ON MY AZTEK SQUEEK. I BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM ON PRIOR YEAR GRANDAMS. THERE ARE NO SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS PROBLEM. TO FURTHER EXPLAIN PROBLEM....TIRE BEADS RUB ON RIM CAUSING A SQUEEKING NOISE. THIS IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TIRE BRAND....GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A. I AM "FIGHTING" WITH THE PONTIAC DEALER AND PONTIAC CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY MAY REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES ONLY...IF PONTIAC APPROVES. I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE AT THE CAR DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WILL TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE PROBLEM UNTIL TIRES ARE ROTATED. THEN THE PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN WITH THE OTHER SET OF TIRES.
