How we ranked these tires for the kia sedona

We started with the latest model-year's OEM tire size; 235/65R17; and filtered our catalog of 22,000+ tires to those offered in that exact size. From there, four parallel rankings:

For sedans and compacts, the all-season touring tire below is the best default; long warranty, low cabin noise, reasonable cost per mile. Switch to the quiet pick if highway droning is a deal-breaker; switch to the winter pick if you see significant snow each year. Use the side-by-side comparison above to weigh the trade-offs against your specific driving; highway-heavy, winter-state, performance-oriented, or budget-constrained.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 KIA SEDONA EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO CRUGEN PREMIUM TIRES, SIZE: 235/65R17 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,040 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

WHILE DRIVING 60 TO 65 MPH THE REAR RIGHT PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONSUMER KNOWS HE DID NOT RUN OVER ANY OBJECT IN THE ROAD. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRE WAS CONTACTED AND ASK THE CONSUMER TO SEND THE TIRE BACK FOR FURTHER CHECK UP. THE MANUFACTURER CALLED HIM BACK TO LET HIM KNOW THAT THE TIRE HAD BEEN CHECK AND INDICATED THAT IT WAS A SIDE IMPACT. CONSUMER DOES NOT AGREE WITH THE FINDINGS. *NLM

CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. HE STATED HE WAS ONLY GETTING 18,000 MILES FROM A SET OF TIRES. HE STATED HIS FIRST SET OF TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL ONES AND THEY WORE OUT AT ABOUT 18,000. NOW HE HAS SIGMA 15 RIMS AND NOW THEY ARE WEARING OUT AT ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF MILEAGE.

NHTSA complaint 490937 · 2002 vehicle

I'VE HAD A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS WITH MY 2003 KIA SEDONA. INITIALLY ONE OF THE GASKETS LEAKED AND HAD TO N BE REPLACED. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE WHEN THERE WAS NO WEATHER EXTREMES. THE WHEEL BEARINGS WENT IN THE FRONT TIRE. RECENTLY THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING AND AFTER REPLACING ALL THE GASKETS IT COULDN'T GET PRESSURE. THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE BROKE, THE LUMBAR SUPPORT STOPPED WORKING. THE HOOD WOULDN'T CLOSE PROPERLY. AND ON TOP OF ALL THOSE THINGS I'VE HAD 2 BLOWOUTS TO THE FRONT DRIVER'S TIRE IN A 2 YEAR PERIOD. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WHEEL BUT I'M NOT SURE HE EVEN CHECKED BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE PROBLEMS HE HAD TO DEAL WITH.

FAQ

What's the best all-season tire for the Kia Sedona?
The all-season touring slate above ranks the top options for the 235/65R17 OEM size. The leader is selected by matching kia-segment fitment, all-season compound class, and premium-brand quality bonus. For most Kia Sedona owners, the all-season touring pick is the best one-tire compromise; long warranty, low noise, reasonable cost per mile.
Should I get a cheaper tire for my Kia Sedona?
The budget slate above ranks tires by cost-per-warranty-mile, ignoring brand premium. The budget pick is genuinely competitive on durability metrics; the trade-off is shorter warranty and slightly higher cabin noise, not actual safety risk. If you drive less than 15,000 miles a year, the budget pick will outlast your replacement window regardless.
Does the Kia Sedona need winter tires?
If you see more than 5 snow days a year or drive at sustained temperatures below 7 °C, yes; winter compounds stay pliable in cold where all-season rubber hardens, which translates directly to shorter braking distances. The winter pick above is 3PMSF severe-snow rated and works for the 235/65R17 OEM fitment. Storage cost is real (4 extra tires somewhere), but the safety margin in winter conditions is substantial.
Can I run a different tire size on my Kia Sedona?
Plus-size and minus-size alternatives within ±3% overall diameter are typically safe per the ETRTO standard. See the 235/65R17 upsize options for the full categorised alternatives table with verdicts.
Where can I buy these tires?
Each tire links to its detail page with live pricing from our online retailer partners. Out-the-door cost (including mount, balance, TPMS service, and disposal) varies by state; use the install cost calculator for a realistic estimate.
