How we ranked these tires for the honda accord
We started with the latest model-year's OEM tire size; 225/50R17; and filtered our catalog of 22,000+ tires to those offered in that exact size. From there, four parallel rankings:
- Best all-season ranks on a weighted score: tire type matches passenger car segment, season is "all-season", premium brand bonus (Michelin / Continental / Bridgestone / Pirelli / Goodyear / Nokian).
- Best budget ranks on cost-per-warranty-mile; the lower the better. Premium brands get no bonus here.
- Best quiet ranks on the EU tire-label dB rating; lower is quieter.
- Best winter filters to tires marked 3PMSF severe-snow rated or all-weather class, with a small premium-brand bonus because winter-compound R&D is capital-intensive.
For sedans and compacts, the all-season touring tire below is the best default; long warranty, low cabin noise, reasonable cost per mile. Switch to the quiet pick if highway droning is a deal-breaker; switch to the winter pick if you see significant snow each year. Use the side-by-side comparison above to weigh the trade-offs against your specific driving; highway-heavy, winter-state, performance-oriented, or budget-constrained.

2013 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SOFTWARE ISSUES AND SEEKS A NEW VEHICLE AT NO COST TO THEM. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE IS A LEMON LAW ISSUE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR OR CORRECT ANY OF THE NON-CONFORMITIES AFTER A REASONABLE NUMBER OF REPAIRS OVER A TEN MONTH PERIOD. THE PROBLEM WITH THE TPMS PERSISTED FROM THE SECOND WEEK OWNERSHIP. THE PRESSURE LIGHT PROBLEM WOULD COME ON AT RANDOM TIMES ON A MONTHLY BASIS. AFTER TEN MONTHS, HONDA STATED IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM, AND THEY DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
THIS IS THE SECOND SAME SIZE COOPER TIRE THAT HAS FAILED THE SAME WAY IN THE SAME TIME FRAME. THE TIRE WAS PROPERLY INFLATED AND BEGAN TO LOSE AIR EVEN THOUGH IT HAD NO PUNCTURES IN THE TIRE. THE TIRE STARTED TO RUN LOW AND THE SIDEWALL CRACKED AND DID NOT DEFLATE BUT RAN WITH LOW PRESSURE. I NOTICED THAT THE TIRE WAS LOW BUT NOT DEFLATED. UPON EXAMINATION OF THE TIRE THE SAME CRACKS APPEARS ON THE SIDE WALL AND NOTHING WAS HIT THAT HAD ABRADED THE TIRE. BOTH TIRES WERE SIZE 215/50 R17 CS4 V XL BW 95 TL. BOTH TIRES LASTED APPROX 15-17K MILES BEFORE FAILING AND APPROX 2 YEARS IN EACH CASE. ONE WAS REPLACED BY THE TIRE DEALER ONLY BECAUSE I HAD BOUGHT THE TIRE PROTECTION POLICY AND THE OTHER WAS NO LONGER COVERED AS REPLACEMENTS ARE NO LONGER COVERED AFTER 12K OR 1 YR. BOTH TIRES COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AS THE SIDEWALL HAS FAILED.
I HAVE HAD 2 BLOWOUTS WITHIN A 3 MONTH PERIOD OF MY FRONT DRIVERS' SIDE GOODYEAR WEATHERHANDLER FUEL MAX TIRES. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT IT WAS A SMOOTH STOP BUT I'M CONCERNED THAT I HAD TWO IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME WITH THE TIRES ONLY BEING 2 YEARS OLD. I HAD MY CAR CHECKED OUT, FRONT END CHECKED AND NO PROBLEMS THERE. THE INSIDE RIM OF BOTH TIRES WERE "DRY ROTTED" PER ONE TIRE GUY AND UNEXPLAINABLE ON HOW IT WOULD WEAR LIKE IT DID.
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY, A LOW RUMBLING SOUND SUDDENLY HEARD AND IN A BLINK SAW A TIRE ROLLING IN REAR VIEW MIRROR. A FEW SECOND LATER FLAT TIRE WARNING SIGN CAME UP. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITH 10 SECONDS TIME. I TOOK IMMEDIATE EXIT AND PARK ON SIDE AND FOUND A REAR TIRE WAS RIPPED OFF WITH ABOUT 2,3 INCHES LEFT ON WHEEL. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW 7 MONTHS AGO AND WAS ABOUT 7500 MILES AT TIME OF ACCIDENT. BEFORE THE INCIDENT, ALL TIRES AND CAR HAVE NOT HAVE ANY ISSUE. AT INCIDENT, TRAFFIC IS LIGHT, CLEAR WEATHER 2 PM, ROAD CONDITION IS GREAT. I TOOK WHEEL WITH RIM OF REMNANT OF TIRE TO NEARBY GOODYEAR DEALER AND WAS TOLD I COULD NOT CLAIM WARRANTY WITHOUT THE WHOLE TIRE WITH ME. THE TIRE IS GOODYEAR EAGLE LS2 235/45/R18.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.
