How we ranked these tires for the ford fiesta
We started with the latest model-year's OEM tire size; 195/60R15; and filtered our catalog of 22,000+ tires to those offered in that exact size. From there, four parallel rankings:
- Best all-season ranks on a weighted score: tire type matches passenger car segment, season is "all-season", premium brand bonus (Michelin / Continental / Bridgestone / Pirelli / Goodyear / Nokian).
- Best budget ranks on cost-per-warranty-mile; the lower the better. Premium brands get no bonus here.
- Best quiet ranks on the EU tire-label dB rating; lower is quieter.
- Best winter filters to tires marked 3PMSF severe-snow rated or all-weather class, with a small premium-brand bonus because winter-compound R&D is capital-intensive.
For sedans and compacts, the all-season touring tire below is the best default; long warranty, low cabin noise, reasonable cost per mile. Switch to the quiet pick if highway droning is a deal-breaker; switch to the winter pick if you see significant snow each year. Use the side-by-side comparison above to weigh the trade-offs against your specific driving; highway-heavy, winter-state, performance-oriented, or budget-constrained.

I WROTE A LETTER TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY REGARDING THE OPTIMO H426 TIRE MANUFACTURED BY HANKOOK ON MY NEW 2014 FORD FIESTA THAT WAS PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2014. I FELT THAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THE BUBBLE WAS LOCATED ON THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE AND NOT ON THE TREAD. I RECEIVED A RESPONSE THAT WAS UNSATISFACTORY AND THEY WOULDN'T REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF A NEW REPLACEMENT TIRE ($156.67). MY DAD WAS DRIVING IN ANOTHER TOWN AND NOTICED ANOTHER CAR ALSO HAD A BUBBLE ON THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE SO I DECIDED TO LET YOU KNOW; POSSIBLY SEE IF THIS IS UNDER INVESTIGATION OR NOT. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY ON THE ROAD, ETC. AND WITH THIS DEFECTIVE TIRE HAD BLOWN; I WOULD HAVE HAD MORE PROBLEMS.
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND BACK LEFT TIRE EXPLODED, THE COMPLETE SIDE WALL ALL THE WAY AROUND BLEW OUT. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH LOSING AIR AND I GOT NO WHERE WITH THE DEALERSHIP, THEN WHEN THIS HAPPENED I EVEN PRINTED OUT COMPLAINTS OTHERS HAD WITH THE SAME TIRES AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT WAS CONSIDERED WEAR AND TEAR. I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN AUG OF 2012 AND ITS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. I AM ALSO HEARING MORE COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS. I HAVE A COMMERCIAL LIC., AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY FOR AN UNSKILLED DRIVER. I FEAR FOR MINE AND OTHERS SAFETY. I HAD MY TIRES REPLACED AT WAL-MART.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.
