We purchased pair of Trailer King tires for our 5th wheel RV on June 15, 2020 that were mounted on the rear axle. On a camping trip in late April we noticed that one of the tires appeared to be tracking oddly when we were on the highway. We took it to the local tire shop where we had purchased the tires and they told us that the tread had separated and the tire had to be replaced. It is fortunate that we noticed this problem. We could have had a blowout resulting in damage to our vehicle and/or a serious accident.
The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 used to haul a 2007 Tracker Marine NX18 boat trailer equipped with Trailer King Tires, Tire line: Value ST Radial, Tire Size: 215/75/R14, DOT Number: ADB6HFST1917. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the boat trailer's front passenger's side tire had a blowout. There were lumps and bulges on various parts of the tire. The contact's son was able to pull over and replace the tire with a spare. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email. The failure mileage was unknown.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

TBC custom 428 a S: what the numbers tell you
Manufacturer treadwear data for the Custom 428 A S is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.
Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Custom 428 A S is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.
The TBC Custom 428 A S has been part of TBC's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.
