Percentages are shares of the 51 reports filed against Sigma tires across every line and vehicle that include a written account; a single report can describe more than one problem, so they do not total 100%.

NHTSA complaint 1190730

WE BOUGHT BRAND NEW SIGMA TEMPEST TIRES JUST A WEEK OR TWO AGO. ON OUR FIRST TRIP OUT OF TOWN, ONE OF THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES SIMPLY DISINTEGRATED...NO ROAD HAZARD, NOTHING...THE TIRE JUST FELL APART. FORTUNATELY, IT WAS A REAR TIRE AND THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. NOW, I AM AFRAID OF THAT THESE TIRES ARE TOTALLY UNSAFE, AND WISH THE MANUFACTURER WOULD REFUND OUR MONEY, SO WE COULD GET A BETTER BRAND. WE BOUGHT THEM AT OK TIRE, FARGO, ND. *NLM

NHTSA complaint 402506

I PURCHASED 4 SIGMA REGENT 9M TIRES FROM TIRE KINGDOM IN 2003. THEY ONLY HAD 25,000 ON THEM AND 2 OF THEM BLEW OUT ON THE EXPRESSWAY ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. IT WASN'T A NORMAL BLOWOUT, AS 2 DIFFERENT MECHANICS ATTESTED. THE TIRE HAD WIRES COMING OUT EVERYWHERE. I CALLED TIRE KINGDOM AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE I DON'T HAVE THE TIRES (MY DAUGHTER HAD THE MECHANICS DISPOSE OF THEM AFTER BEING TOWED TO THE NEAREST SERVICE CENTER) THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SOMEONE AWARE OF THIS BECAUSE IT COULD OF CAUSED AN INJURY.

NHTSA complaint 607043

14 MONTHS OLD SIGMA REGENT TIRE (PURCHASED NOV '06). STRANGE VIBRATION SINCE THE DAY THEY WERE PURCHASED. NTB CHECKED TIRES AND BALANCE - NO PROBLEM. A BUBBLE WITH SMALL SLITS NEAR THE RIM exists. NO RIM DAMAGE. NO FAILURE, CAUGHT IT AND REMOVED THE TIRE. NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. NTB SAID IT WAS MY PROBLEM, NO THEIRS.

Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Sigma duration classic A/S: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the Duration Classic A/S is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Duration Classic A/S is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Sigma Duration Classic A/S has been part of Sigma's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
