Sidewall failure appears in 83% of these reports; about 5.6× as often as across all tire complaints. Percentages are shares of the 12 reports filed against Nanco tires across every line and vehicle that include a written account; a single report can describe more than one problem, so they do not total 100%.

THE CONTACT OWNS A 1985 (NA) EZ LOADER BOAT TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH NANCO TIRES, SIZE: ST205/75D-14 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDEWALLS ON ALL FOUR TIRES WERE SPLITTING WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

NHTSA complaint 1280120

DT: THE CONTACT STATED WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES ON THE TIRES NOTICED CRACKS ON THE SIDEWALL ALL THE WAY AROUND ALL THE TIRES. HE REPLACED THEM. ALSO, THE DOOR LOCKED AND HE COULD NOT GET IN OR OUT OF THE TRAILER. THE TRAILER WAS DAMAGED WHEN THEY CRACKED THE DOOR TO GET OUT. HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, THEY STATED HE NEEDED TO CONTACT THE LOCK MANUFACTURER. THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO ASSIST IN THE REPAIRS OF THE DOOR OR THE LOCK.

NHTSA complaint 565379

I PURCHASED 3 NANCO ST-215/75/14 TIRES FOR MY BOAT TRAILER. AFTER 500 MILES I HAD A MAJOR BLOWOUT OF THE SIDEWALL, ALMOST CAUSING A COLLISION. I FEEL THESE TIRES NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED. I SPOKE TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE AND WENT ON THE NET, AND FOUND NUMEROUS OTHERS WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH UNDER 1000 MILES ON THEIR TIRES.

NHTSA complaint 667778

THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 SUNNYBROOK 36BWKS. THE VEHICLE HAS NANCO TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE SIDEWALLS ON THE TIRES HAVE DRY ROTTED. THE SPARE, WHICH HAD NEVER BEEN USED, WAS ALSO CRACKED. THE ORIGINAL TIRES HAD THE SAME FAILURE. THE TIRE COMPANY SENT FOUR NEW TIRES, BUT THEY FAILED WORSE THAN THE OTHERS. THE TIRE COMPANY OFFERED ANOTHER SET OF TIRES, BUT THE CONTACT REFUSED. HE STATED THAT HE WOULD PURCHASE TIRES OF THE SAME STYLE AND WOULD BE REIMBURSED UPON EXAMINATION OF THE TIRES. NO OTHER VEHICLE INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE TIRE LINE, SIZE, AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN.

Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Nanco N700: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the N700 is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the N700 is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Nanco N700 has been part of Nanco's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
