When I replaced the previous tires with Defender LTX M/S roughly 10 years ago my pickup truck went from being a handful to drive, both in terms of noise and stability, to a truck that I had complete confidence in and could drive it without concern for breaking or maneuverability. The truck felt like a completely different vehicle. Unfortunately, I can't get replacements in my size. I have these tires put on all my new Ford F-150's when I trade vehicles. They are the best all-around LT tires I've ever used. Just replaced the last set at 76000 miles, only because we were leaving on a 2200-mile trip through mountains, for peace of mind. They had more miles left in them. Excellent grip on slippery highways has been my experience. I use the 10ply tires since we tow and sometimes travel gravel roads also.

I HAVE A 2011 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY 28,000 MILES, THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LT275/65R20 TIRES. I RECENTLY NOTICED STRESS CRACKS ALONE THE INNER WALL NEAR THE RIM ON ALL 4 TIRES. There also is CRACKS AROUND THE UPPER PORTION OF THE TIRE AROUND THE TREAD. THROUGH RESEARCH I HAVE LOCATED A SAFETY RECALL FOR THESE TIRES BUT IN THE SIZE OF LT 275/55R20. I HAVE CONTACTED MICHELIN AND WAS TOLD TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES ( $330 X 4 ) AND SEND THESE TIRES TO THEM FOR INSPECTION. A POSSIABILITY OF A PRORATION BUT NO GUARANTEE exists. AS IN THE POSTED SAFETY RECALL THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO HAVE A PARTIAL OR FULL LOSS OF AIR MAKING THIS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LTX II TIRES, SIZE: 275-55 R20. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDEWALL WAS CRACKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS CONFIRMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE, VIN AND DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LTX M/S2 TIRES, SIZE: P225/75/R16 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT AND THE THREAD SEPARATED FROM THE BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
SIDE WALL DEFECT IN TIRE CAUSE TIRE FAILURE & ACCIDENT. FRONT RIGHT TIRE BLOW OUT CAUSE VEHICLE TO PULL HARD RIGHT HITTING CAR IN FAR RIGHT TURN LANE. VEHICLE TIRE BLEW CAUSING IT TO SIDESWIPE NEXT TO IT. HOLE IN SIDEWALL DISCOVERED AFTER ACCIDENT.
