THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER A/S TIRES, SIZE: 205/65/16 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES EXHIBITED TREAD SEPARATION WITH EXCESSIVE CRACKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THAT THE FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
on 7/2/21 I hit a curb at two miles per hour which caused a gash in the passenger front tire sidewall. I purchased the 21 Chevrolet Bolt and these Michelins are Bolt specfic, Michelin A/S selfseal because I work in construction and had a lot of flat repairs so selfseal was a primary driver for the lease. The tires have the sealant already inside which makes the tires heavy and cumbersome in handling. The sidewalls feel like they are buckling because the weight is in the tread and around it. These low rolling resistance tires have bad traction especially in wet conditions. I had to leave my car in an unsafe location and it took GM Roadside Assistance four days to get the car to the dealer. The bolt has no spare or sealant kit. I complained to GM and they offered me goodwill GM points which they later reneged on.
THE CONTACT OWNS MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER TIRES, SIZE P225/50/R17, THAT WERE EQUIPPED ON A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE EXAMINING THE TIRES, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE EXPERIENCING DRY ROT AROUND THE SIDEWALL. THE TIRES HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MIELAGES WERE 28,000.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER A/S GREEN X TIRES, SIZE 225/50/17. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES EXHIBITED NUMEROUS CRACKS AND WERE COMPLETELY DRY ROTTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FOUR TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECTIVE TIRES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,300.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Michelin energy saver: what the numbers tell you
Manufacturer treadwear data for the Energy Saver is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.
Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Energy Saver is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.
The Michelin Energy Saver has been part of Michelin's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.
For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
