THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HITCHED TO A TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH INNOVA ULTRA RUNNER TIRES, SIZE: 4.80/4.00X12. WHILE HAULING DIRT IN THE TRAILER AND DRIVING 45 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE TRAILER TIRE HAD A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE TIRE; HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR LATER, THE DRIVER SIDE TRAILER TIRE BLEW OUT. THE DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS ALSO REPLACED WITH A SPARE TIRE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V638000 (TIRES), BUT WAS INFORMED BY THE LOCAL HARBOR FREIGHT STORE THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND ONLY OFFERED THE CONTACT A $30.00 GIFT CERTIFICATE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
The contact owns a 2016 Global Factory Ultra-Tow utility trailer equipped with Innova tires, Tire Line: Ultra Runner, Tire Size: 5.3X12, DOT Numbers: OFCB0615 and OFCB0315. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's side tires had cracks along the sidewall. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and requested the date codes and DOT numbers on the affected tires to forward to the factory. HE ATTEMPTED CALLING THE MANUFACTURER, BUT ALL THE CONTACT INFORMATION THAT WAS LISTED WAS DISCONNECTED. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES OF THE TIRES. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN.
