MY ITASCA SPIRIT HAS HAD THREE(3) BLOW-OUTS IN THE SAME LOCATION, THE BACK INSIDE PASSENGER TIRE. ONE CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE. FINALLY, A COMPANY FOUND THAT THE BRACKET HOLDING THE AIR BAG COMPRESSOR ONLY HAD ONE BOLT HOLDING IT UP INSTEAD OF FOUR. AS A RESULT THE HANGING BRACKET WAS SCRAPING THE TIRE. IN 2010 THERE AS A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THE FLOOR IN THE BEDROOM AND SHOWER STALL THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED PLUS THE WHOLE LEFT OUTER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. A LOT OF OUT OF POCKET MONEY WAS SPENT ON TIRES AND REPAIRS. A PICTURE OF THE LAST BLOW OUT IS AVAILABLE.
TRAVELING EAST ON HWY 76 JUST OUTSIDE JULESBURG, CO, MY RIGHT REAR TIRE SIDEWALL BLEW OUT AT 75MPH. TIRE PRESSURES WERE AT 35 PSI ON ALL TIRES BEFORE TRIP A FEW DAYS EARLIER. TIRES HAVE ABOUT 20,000 MILES ON THEM AND HAVE ABOUT 45% REMAINING TREAD. BLOWOUT PATTERN WAS A NEAR PERFECT CIRCLE WHERE THE SIDEWALL MEETS THE TREAD AREA OF THE TIRE. DAMAGE TO VEHICLE CONSISTED OF BENT REAR QUARTER PANEL.
APRIL, 1996 I, MY EX WIFE, AND MY DAUGHTER WERE COMING BACK FROM PALMDALE, LA COUNTY, TRAVELING EAST ON 138 HIGHWAY BACK TO ONTARIO, SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, WHERE I USED TO RESIDE. WHILE I WAS PASSING SLOW TRUCK IN TWO HIGHWAY TRYING TO GET BACK IN THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK ONE OF THE FRONT TIRES EXPLODED I LOST CONTROL OF THE 1994 FORD EXPLORER GOT ON THE DIRT THE CAR WAS AIRBORNE LANDED TURN GOD KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES AND LANDED ON THE SIDE.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SUBARU FORESTER EQUIPPED WITH FIRESTONE TIRE FR380, SIZE P215-60-R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES BECAME PREMATURELY WORN, OUT-OF-ROUND AND EXHIBITED TREAD AND BELT SEPARATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRES WAS 53,000 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
