FEDERAL COURAGIA M/T LT265/70R17E TIRES PURCHASED JAN2013. TWO TIRES HAD BELT SEPARATE IN MAY2014. THE FIRST TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED BY MY LOCAL TIRE SHOP. ANOTHER TIRE SUFFERED COMPLETE TREAD SEPARATION ON JUNE2014. THE LOCAL TIRE SHOP ASSURED ME THAT THEY WILL ALSO REPLACE THE TIRE THAT CAME APART AND ASKED ME TO PROVIDE BODY ESTIMATES TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE TIRE SO THEY CAN SUBMIT THEM TO TIRE DISTRIBUTOR. THE TIRES HAVE APPROX. 15,000 MILES ON THEM. THESE TIRES ARE INSTALLED ON A 2007 FORD F-350 4X4 WITH A 5.4L GAS ENGINE. THE TIRES ARE PEELING OFF AS IF THEY WERE RECAPPED TIRES BUT THEY ARE NOT RECAPS.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH FEDERAL COURAGIA A/T TIRES, SIZE 33512.50R/20LT (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDEWALLS OF THE TIRES CONTAINED BUBBLES. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000 AND THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
FEDERAL COURAGA MT TIRE TREAD SEPARATION AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING. NOT EVEN AT HALF OF THE TREAD LIFE NO SIGNS OF DAMAGE OR CRACKING PRIOR TO THIS. ALL OTHER TIRES LOOK OK BUT HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOR CONCERNS OVER THE SAFETY OF THE TIRES AND MANUFACTURING QUALITY
THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 DODGE RAM 2500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE INTO A RAVINE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE POLICE ARRIVED AND FILED A REPORT. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE STORE THAT SOLD HIM THE TIRES. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE TIRE STORE STATED THAT THEY WOULD RECTIFY THE ISSUE WITH THE TIRE OR THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED FROM LES SCHWAB LOCATED IN PINE VIEW, OREGON. THE TIRE INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN BECAUSE THE CONTACT GAVE THEM BACK TO THE STORE. THE VIN AND MILEAGES WERE ALSO UNKNOWN.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Federal himalaya iceo: what the numbers tell you
Manufacturer treadwear data for the Himalaya Iceo is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.
Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Himalaya Iceo is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.
The Federal Himalaya Iceo has been part of Federal's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.
For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
