UPDATED 10/09/09 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE TRAVELING BACK HOME, ANOTHER MOTORIST INFORMED HIM THAT ONE OF THE FIFTH WHEEL TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT. THE RIM AND THE FIFTH WHEEL WAS DAMAGED. NHTSA complaint 731873

CONSUMER STATES THAT COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED FROM DEALERS THAT THE TIRE SIDEWALLS ARE SHOWING CRACKS ON NEW UNITS. *TGW THE TIRE MANUFACTURER STATED THE CRACKS IN THE TIRES WERE PURELY COSMETIC AND DID NOT AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE TIRE. THEY ALSO STATED THE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN TAIWAN HAD MIXED SOME RECLAIM COMPOUND INTO THE TIRE COMPOUND. THE RECLAIM MATERIAL WAS MATERIAL THAT IS NORMALLY USED ON THE LT TYPE TIRE AND THEY MAY HAVE PUT TOO MUCH IN THE MIX.

NHTSA complaint 781567

I OWN A 2008 COUGAR 5TH WHEEL RV MADE BY KEYSTONE RV IN INDIANA. AFTER A TRIP TO TEXAS AND ONLY PUTTING ON 5000 MILES I NOTICED THAT THE TIRES WERE SPLITTING IN THE TREADS. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT CHECKING TIRE QUALITY WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TIRE BUT IT TURNS OUT THAT KEYSTONE OCCASIONALLY SLIPS ON CHEAP BIAS PLY TIRES RATHER THAN RADIALS. THESE TIRES WERE REPLACED AGAIN WITH BIAS PLYS HOWEVER A YEAR LATER THEY STARTED CUPPING AND WEARING UNEVENLY. I HAVE NOW REPLACED THESE TIRES AT MY COST WITH GOOD YEAR RADIALS. THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS THAT KEYSTONE PUTS TOGETHER INFERIOR PRODUCTS TO IMPROVE THEIR BOTTOM LINE.

Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Duro di k968m: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the Di K968m is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Di K968m is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Duro Di K968m has been part of Duro's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
