DUNLOP SP SPORT SIGNATURE SIDEWALL SEPARATION. RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR VEHICLE DAMAGE COULD RESULT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE FOR THIS MODEL OF TIRE ON WEB SITES SUCH AS: HTTP://WWW.VEHICLETIRE.COM/COMPLAINT/DUNLOP/SP+SPORT+SIGNATURE.
EXACT MODEL OF TIRE IS NOT FOUND IN THE DROP DOWN MENU. DUNLOP SP SPORT 01 A/S. SIZE 225/40R18 92H. A BUBBLE IN THE SIDEWALL DEVELOPED AFTER 9,000 MILES WITH NO ACCIDENT. THIS WEAKNESS IN THE TIRE CAN VERY EASILY LEAD TO BLOWOUTS. IF THE BUBBLE OCCUR ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE, IT CAN GO UNNOTICED. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS SPECIFIC TIRE AND MANY VEHICLES USE THIS TIRE AS THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC TORRENT EQUIPPED WITH DUNLAP SIGNATURE 2 TIRES, SIZE 235-65R16 AND DOT NUMBER TJ46JU1R3512. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR TIRES FAILED PREMATURELY. THE TIRE TREAD SEPARATED AND CAUSED THE TIRES TO BECOME FLAT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 164,039. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

BIKE IS KEPT IN A HEATED GARAGE,ON WOODEN BOARDS AND IS NEVER RIDDEN IN OR SEEN RAIN.SEARCH OF ONLINE FORUMS SHOWS THAT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE,ALTHOUGH I CAN NOT VOUCH FOR THE WAY THEIR BIKES ARE KEPT AND MAINTAINED.S.C. 552(B)(6).
