NHTSA complaint 229259

TREAD SEPARATION WHILE DRIVING. WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE THE TIRE BLEW OUT. SEARS CALLED BRIDGESTONE ABOUT THE DEFECT AND THEY REPLACED IT FREE OF CHARGE, SINCE THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THAT TIRE. HOWEVER, THEY WOULD NOT RPLACE THE REMAINING THREE TIRES, WHICH COULD INCURR THE SAME SEPARATION AND POTENTIAL BLOW OUT.

NHTSA complaint 237672

THE BELTS ON THE TWO FRONT TIRES STARTED COMING APART TO WHERE I LOST CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO BUY TWO TIRES TO RPLACE THEM IN NASHVILLE TENN. THESE TIRES WERE NOISY FROM THE DAY I BOUGHT THEM. THEY WERE MOUNTED ON THE REAR WHEELS. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM ON A TRIP TO CANADA AND HAD THEM CHECKED IN DETROIT, MI. I ALSO HAD THE TIRES ROTATD AND THE MECHANIC SAID THEY WERE BADLY CUPPED AND I SHOULD CHECK THE REAR STRUTS. WITH THE TIRES ON THE FRONT WHEELS, THEY BECAME WORSE BY THE TIME I GOT TO NASHVILLE AND I HAD VERY POOR FRONT END CONTROL. I HAD THE TIRES REPALCED THEN. WHEN I RETURNED TO TX, I HAD THE REAR STRUTS REPLACED AND THE MECHANIC SAID THEY WERE NOT BAD ENOUGH TO CHANGE THOUGH THEY DID SHOW SOME SLIGHT WEAR.

NHTSA complaint 238389

ON JULY 1, 2003 NOTICED A LARGE BULGE, APPROXIMATELY FOUR INCHES IN DIAMETER, ON THE SIDE WALL OF DRIVERSIDE REAR TIRE OF MY NEW CHRYSLER TOWN&COUNTRY MINIVAN. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT FOR JULY 2, 2003 TO GET TIRE CHECKED. WENT OUT ON MORNING OF JULY 2 TO TAKE CAR TO DEALERSHIP THE BULGE HAD RUPTURED AND TIRE WAS FLAT WITHOUT CAR BEING DRIVEN SINCE BULDGE WAS NOTICED. TIRE IS A BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL 42 215/65R16 987M+S EL42B2 WITH APPROXIMATLY 3800 MILES OF USE.

Bridgestone turanza EL41: what the numbers tell you

Manufacturer treadwear data for the Turanza EL41 is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.

Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Turanza EL41 is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.

The Bridgestone Turanza EL41 has been part of Bridgestone's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.

For an apples-to-apples comparison against direct rivals, see the comparison pages linked from this tire's brand index.
