VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT. MY SPOUSE STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO LOOK FOR A PROBLEM. SHE FOUND THAT AIR WAS ESCAPING THE FRONT LEFT TIRE OUT OF THE SIDEWALL. SHE THEN DROVE THE CAR TO A SAFE STOPPING POINT AND CALLED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SIDEWALL HAD BLOWN OUT ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS REPLACED. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIM WAS NOT DAMAGED. THE SIDEWALL OF THE BRIDGESTONE ECOPIA TIRE HAD FAILED AFTER 5,800 MILES. WE WERE CHARGED $183 FOR THE REPAIR DESPITE THE CAR BEING LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD.
A MONTH AGO I HAD A BRIDGESTONE A/T REVO SEPARATE AND MANAGED TO GET IT REPLACED BEFORE IT BLEW. THIS PAST FRIDAY I WAS TOWING A TRAILER AND HAD ANOTHER SEPARATE AND BEFORE I COULD GET STOPPED IT BLEW OUT ALSO. FORTUNATELY IT WAS ON THE BACK AND I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK AND TRAILER STOPPED SAFELY. NOT SURE I COULD HAVE DONE THIS HAD IT BEEN ON THE FRONT. TIRES WERE AIRED PROPERLY THAT MORNING ALSO. RIPPED MY RIGHT REAR FENDER UP ALSO. TWO OF THE SAME TIRES PURCHASED AT THE SAME TIME SEPARATED WITHIN A MONTH OF EACH OTHER.
TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 85 NORTHBOUND IN GA JUST BEFORE EXIT 64 UNION CITY. FAR LEFT FAST LANE. SUDDEN REAR TIRE EXPLOSION. NO LOAD BEING HAULED 65 PSI AIR PRESSURE IN TIRE. ABLE TO REMAIN IN CONTROL AND WORK MY WAY OVER TO RIGHT SIDE EMERGENCY LANE. CHANGED TO SPARE TIRE ONLY DAMAGED RIM WHEN TRUCK FELL AND ROLLED OVER CARCASS A FEW TIMES. DID NOT STRIKE ANY OBJECT AND TIRE HAD NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE SEEN BEFORE ITS BLOWOUT.
I SENT MY WIFE TO A FIRESTONE STORE TO GET A SET OF ALL SEASON TIRES. WHAT WAS SOLD TO HER IS NOT EFFECTIVE IN ADVERSE WEATHER AND I BELIEVE THAT FIRESTONE BRIDGESTONE IS FALSELY MARKETING A PERFORMANCE TIRE AS ALL SEASON. THE TIRE IS A POTENT RE970 POLE POSITION AS.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.

Bridgestone blizzak LM005 265/45R20: what the numbers tell you
Manufacturer treadwear data for the Blizzak LM005 265/45R20 is not publicly listed. This is common for OEM-only or track-day tires that don't carry a US treadwear warranty. No mileage warranty is published for this tire, which is typical for performance summer and track-day rubber where the manufacturer doesn't make wear-life claims.
Cabin noise data for this tire is not published by the manufacturer. As a general tire built for the passenger segment, the Blizzak LM005 265/45R20 is positioned against direct rivals within the same category. Comparing it to a tire in a different category (e.g. summer vs all-season) makes the spec sheet misleading because the design targets are not the same.
The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 265/45R20 has been part of Bridgestone's catalog since its introduction, and remains a current-production model.
