Factory-installed tire on brand new KIA K-5 suffered catastrophic sidewall failure without contact with any foreign object after tire and vehicle was driven 151 total miles since new. Tire is Pirelli UPR18-235 PZERO All Season. ( R57-119, 029974 S2 WRZ (E4), (E3) 022958)
The contact leased a 2022 Kia K5 equipped with Pirelli Tires, Tire Line: P Zero AS, Tire Size: 235/45/R18. The contact stated that the passenger's side front tire had a bubble. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the driver's side rear and passenger's side rear tire thread depth was low. The two tires were replaced. The manufacturer was contacted by email and provided reimbursements for the tires. Additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Tire: Pirelli P Zero All Season M+S (235/45/18) Tire experienced a catastrophic failure while driving entire tire came a loose from rim leaving the car incapacitated and unable to maintain control. Luckily it was a rear tire which allowed partial control until able to safely stop the car.
tire size 235/45 R18. Both front tires at 7,300 miles suddenly have bulging out of the side wall. One tire bulge the size of a golf ball, the other tire slightly larger in size. No warnings or inflation issues prior to failure. Severe safety risk. Risk of blowout is high. Car not drivable due to risk of blowout. Contacted Pirelli the manufacturer, was told both tires are to be sent to them for inspection by the dealership. Pirelli customer service indicated the issue will likely not be covered under warranty.
