HELLO, I JUST BOUGHT A PRE-OWNED 2012 CHEVROLET CAMARO. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THEY DO NOT COME WITH A SPARE TIRE !! HOW ON EARTH CAN GM GET AWAY WITH THAT. INSTEAD, THEY GIVE YOU A AIR PUMP WITH SOME GUUUU TO SEAL UP THE HOLE. THEY HAVE GOT TO BE CRAZY. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND THEY SHOULD GIVE EVERY CAR A SPARE TIRE. IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH? [XXX]S.C. 552(B)(6).
I HAVE A 2010 CAMARO 2LT WITH 255-20FRONT AND 275-20REAR, AT AROUND 15K KILOMETERS I NOTICED A SLIGHT NOISE OF FRONT TIRES AND EFFECT ON THE STEERING, I FOUND A BIT LATER THAT THE PIRELLI P ZERO'S WERE STARTING TO CUP, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO MY GM DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THEM THROUGH WARRANTY, I HAD A FULL ALIGNMENT DONE, NOTHING WAS OUT OF LINE OR BALANCE. I AM ON MY 2ND SET OF FRONTS AND THEY ARE ALSO TOAST AT THE SAME MILEAGE INTERVAL. I AM NOT SURE IF THE TIRES ARE THE PROBLEM OR IF THE VEHICLES STEERING/SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS TO LIGHT TO HANDLE THE LARGE TIRES? WHEN I LOOK AT THE STEERING SYSTEM I AM HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS THAT THIS IS THE CASE. GM WOULD OF COURSE DENY THIS AND I CANNOT PROVE THIS UNTIL I CHANGE OVER TO ANOTHER SET OF TIRES. IT WILL BE INTERESTING TO FIND OUT IF THE STEERING BEING TOO LIGHT WOULD BE THE PROBLEM.
MADE A TURN IN RAIN GOING APPROX 10 MPH AND CAR SLID. LUCKILY NO ACCIDENT, HOWEVER IT IS UTTER NONSENSE TO SELL AN AUTOMOBILE IN THE NORTHEAST WITH SUMMER TIRES ONLY AND THEN OFFER ALL WEATHER TIRES AND RIMS AS A $1000.00 AFTER MARKET OPTION. I FEEL THIS IS UNSAFE and LETHAL TO THE DRIVER AND ALL OCCUPANTS. I BELIEVE THAT CHEVY SHOULD BE SELLING THE CAR WITH ALL WEATHER TIRES (SAFETY FIRST) AND THE SUMMER TIRES AS AN OPTION. I FEEL THAT PAYING $45,000.00 FOR A VEHICLE IT SHOULD BE SAFE. I FEEL THAT THERE WILL BE MANY ACCIDENTS TO COME AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW "DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE" TO GET THIS INVESTIGATED. I FEEL CHEVY SHOULD RECALL ALL AUTOS WITH THESE SUMMER TIRES AND REPLACE THEM WITH ALL WEATHER OR AT LEAST HAVE THE OWNER SIGH A WAIVER.
I HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS CAMARO IN FEBRUARY, NOT KNOWING THAT THESE TIRES WERE NOT TO BE USED IN COLD WEATHER. WE HAD SOME VERY COLD WEATHER IN THE LAST PART OF FEBRUARY AND I DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAMARO TO WORK. WHEN I ENTERED THE PAVED ROAD IT STARTED TO SPIN THE TIRES ON THE PAVEMENT. THERE WAS NO MOISTURE ON THE ROADS AND NO REASON TO LOOSE TRACTION. WHEN I GOT HOME I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON LINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE TIRES BEING WARM WEATHER TIRES ONLY. I THINK CHEVROLET SHOULD REPLACE THE TIRES WITH ALL WEATHER TIRES. PS TIRES WERE NOT LISTED I HAD TO USE UNKNOWN OR OTHER TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS SITE. THANKS
