TIRES LOSING AIR DUE TO POOR CHROMING PROCESS, AKA PAINT ON RIMS, FAKE CHROME PAINT IS PEELING OFF ON INSIDE OF RIMS, (SINCE GM DOESN'T LIKE TO RUSTCOAT ANY OF THEIR PARTS TO SAVE A COUPLE $) CAUSING TIRES NOT TO SEAL TO RIM, AS WELL VALVE STEM HOLE IS NO LONGER ROUND DUE TO FLAKING PAINT AND AIR IS ESCAPING HERE AS WELL. THIS COULD LEAD TO TIRE BLOWOUTS AND PROBABLY HAS, AND WAS PROBABLY BLAMED ON THE TIRE OR ROAD HAZARDS THAT WEREN'T THERE. I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND CADILLAC AND THEY ONLY THINK THEIR PARTS SHOULD LAST AS LONG AS EXTRA WARRANTY YOU PAY FOR. SO 3 YEARS. AFTER THAT, ALL PARTS ARE OK TO FAIL IN THEIR EYES.
TIRES ON 2009 ESCALADE ARE DRY ROTTING AND HAVE LOST PIECES OF THE RUBBER ON THE TIRE. THEY ALSO DO NOT HOLD AIR. I NOTICED A FEW OTHER NOTICES ON THESE TIRES BUT NO RECALL HAS OCCURRED. TIRES ARE BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/L ALENZA P285. MILEAGE ON THE TIRES IS 35099.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE EQUIPPED WITH NEXEN ROADIAN HP TIRES, SIZE: 285/45R22. WHILE INSTALLING TIRES ON THE VEHICLE AND INFLATING THEM, THE TIRE SIDEWALLS EXPLODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 0.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE EQUIPPED WITH DURATURN MOZZO TIRES, SIZE: 295/35R24 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND WOBBLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED METAL STICKING OUT OF ONE OF THE TIRES AND THAT THE TIRES EXPANDED AND FLATTENED. THE TIRES WERE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRES. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CHANGED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
