How we ranked these tires for the nissan 350Z
We started with the latest model-year's OEM tire size; 225/45R18; and filtered our catalog of 22,000+ tires to those offered in that exact size. From there, four parallel rankings:
- Best all-season ranks on a weighted score: tire type matches passenger car segment, season is "all-season", premium brand bonus (Michelin / Continental / Bridgestone / Pirelli / Goodyear / Nokian).
- Best budget ranks on cost-per-warranty-mile; the lower the better. Premium brands get no bonus here.
- Best quiet ranks on the EU tire-label dB rating; lower is quieter.
- Best winter filters to tires marked 3PMSF severe-snow rated or all-weather class, with a small premium-brand bonus because winter-compound R&D is capital-intensive.
For sedans and compacts, the all-season touring tire below is the best default; long warranty, low cabin noise, reasonable cost per mile. Switch to the quiet pick if highway droning is a deal-breaker; switch to the winter pick if you see significant snow each year. Use the side-by-side comparison above to weigh the trade-offs against your specific driving; highway-heavy, winter-state, performance-oriented, or budget-constrained.

I PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES FOR MY 2004 NISSAN 350Z, THEY ARE THE FALKEN PRO G5 SPORT A/S TIRES P225/45R18 ON THE FRONT. 245/45/R18 ON THE REAR ON 2/06/19 THE MILEAGE IN WAS 16,292. ON 1/15/20 I TOOK THE CAR OUT AND THE CAR WAS BOUNCING ALL OVER THE ROAD, I TOOK IT BACK TO DISCOUNT TIRES IN LAS VEGAS NEVADA ON THAT SAME DAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BALANCE OF THE TIRES. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TRIED TO BALANCE THE TIRES HE SAID THEY ARE OFF BY OVER 1 OUNCE. ANOTHER TECH CAME AND TRIED TO BALANCE THE TIRES AND FOUND A BULGE ON ALL 4 TIRES AND OPTED TO REPLACE THEM ALL,I ONLY HAD 69 MILES ON THE TIRES! I HAVE TO SAY IN ALL MY YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN TIRES DEVELOP BULGES LIKE THESE AND ALL 4 NEEDING REPLACEMENT WITH ONLY 69 MILES ON THEM! I AM VERY NERVOUS WITH THESE TIRES BEING THAT THEY ARE INSTALLED ON A NISSAN 350Z WITH THE POWER THE VEHICLE HAS.
Tire size 265/35ZR19 driving down highway at 55 mph when tire blew out. I was able to lucklily get the shoulder and it looked like my tire was cut open with a can opener on the sidewall. The tpms sensor was working fine and they were never plugged and had plenty of tread. I sent pictures of the damage to continental that just replies they're not warranted. If you google continental blow outs you will see tires and even recalls that look just like mine. I definitely could of been killed or killed someone else if the blowout occurred on a busy highway because I lost control
COMPLAINT RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL."I HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. THE TIRES WORE OUT WITHIN 7 MONTHS. I TOOK TO THE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED. I ENDED UP REPLACING TWO TIRES. THAT WAS IN JUNE. SEPTEMBER I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. LESS THAN A YEAR, MY CAR HAS HAD 5 ALIGNMENTS AND TWO SETS OF TIRES. I CONTACTED THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIR SPECIALIST, NO ONE WANTED TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS. THE CAR IS BELIEVED TO HAVE A MANUFACTURED DEFECT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS INFORMED ME THAT LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL CAR HAS BEEN REPORTED. I CAN NOT DRIVE MY CAR ANYMORE BECAUSE I AM SCARED THE TIRES MIGHT BLOW UP.
I OWN A 2003 NISSAN 350Z. I PURCHASED THE CAR ON JULY 3RD, 2003. SINCE THAT PURCHASE, THE FRONT TIRES HAVE BEEN "FEATHERING" AND ALL NISSAN WILL DO IS PULL THE TIRES OFF AND ROTATE THE PROBLEM AREA TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE WHEEL. NOW THE INSIDE WILL START TO "FEATHER" THUS CREATING THE RIDE EVEN ROUGHER AND MORE UNSTABLE. IS THIS CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR TO THE TIRES and ONCE ROTATED, IT HAS INCREASED THE CHANCE FOR A BLOWOUT EVEN FURTHER. NISSAN CONTINUES TO DODGE MY REQUEST FOR A SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENT, AS THIS IS APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM, BY SAYING THAT IT IS NOT THE SUSPENSION OR THE ALIGNMENT, BUT THE TIRES THEMSELVES (WHICH IS JUST NOT TRUE.
Complaints are voluntarily submitted to the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation and are not verified by NHTSA; they represent owner-reported problems, not proven defects. Counts can be useful as a relative quality signal across comparable tires or vehicles.
